Eva & Michael Schmid
Eva and Michael are a young German-American couple united by a shared calling to serve the people of Ukraine in the midst of war. Having both lived and worked on the ground since the first days of the conflict in 2022, they bring together deep compassion, practical experience, and a steadfast faith that sustains their service in challenging circumstances.
Michael felt a clear calling to go and serve the Ukrainian people at the onset of the Russian invasion. Over the past years, he has gained extensive frontline experience, including leading large-scale evacuation efforts and coordinating aid convoys. As the former Ukraine Director of Haus der Hoffnung e.V. (House of Hope NGO), he oversaw the evacuation and relief support of tens of thousands of displaced people. Today, he continues this mission as All4Aid’s Ukraine Director, leading our Emergency Response Team in Dnipro with dedication and courage.
Eva, born and raised in the United States to a Russian-Ukrainian family, carries a deep personal connection to the region. With a background in Kinesiology, fluency in English, Russian, and Ukrainian, and years of experience in cross-cultural ministry, she serves as a Programme Support Worker in All4Aid’s Emergency Response operations in Dnipro. Through her interpreting and relational work, she helps bridge cultures and build trust, ensuring that all we do is delivered with dignity, compassion, and hope.
Rooted in their shared faith and sense of mission, Eva and Michael are committed to serving the people of Ukraine with humility, courage, and love — embodying Christ’s presence in a place marked by loss.
