At All4Aid’s Community Centre on Lesvos, practical support is an important part of what we do. Every day, women visit to receive clothing, food items, and other essentials for themselves and their families.
Recently, one of our volunteers spent a day helping in our Food Bank. What stood out wasn’t just the items being handed out, but the conversations taking place. Speaking several languages, he was able to chat with many of the women as they waited and shopped.
The next day, as the women returned, they immediately asked about him by name. They remembered him. They were glad to see him again.
It was a simple reminder that people need more than practical support. Small acts of kindness, genuine interest, and taking time to connect can make a lasting impact.
At the heart of All4Aid’s work are relationships. Because while practical support meets immediate needs, feeling seen, valued, and cared for is something every person deserves.
