Celebrating Together

Our Community Centre in Cyprus was filled with laughter, conversation, food, games, and families coming together to celebrate World Refugee Day.

One of the highlights of the day was sharing food prepared by around 15 refugee and asylum seeker volunteers. Representing Iran, Iraq, Somalia, Cameroon, Syria, and Kurdistan, they generously cooked traditional dishes from their own cultures, inviting everyone to enjoy a meal together.

Alongside the food, children and families enjoyed a bouncy castle, face painting, henna art, popcorn and ice cream, cookie decorating, and creative craft activities—including a collaborative butterfly artwork that everyone contributed to.

More than just a celebration, the day was a reminder that community is built through simple moments: sharing a meal, creating together, playing together, and taking time to connect.

A heartfelt thank you to every volunteer, staff member, and family who made this day so special.

đź’› Together, we’re creating spaces where people can find belonging, friendship, and hope.
