This International Day of Families, we’re reflecting on the heart of our work at All4Aid: supporting families as they navigate new beginnings. In Cyprus, our Mothers & Babies Care Programme shines a light on this commitment through initiatives like our weekly Babies & Toddlers Playgroup.
More than just playtime, this gathering is a lifeline for refugee mothers and their little ones. Imagine a space where they can share a simple snack of fruit, veggies, and treats, celebrate birthdays with a homemade cake, and watch their children explore a world of toys and games. It’s a moment of normalcy, a chance for both parents and children to simply be.
But the impact goes deeper. For mothers who often come from cultures where extended family provides crucial childcare support, the experience of raising children in a new, unfamiliar environment can feel isolating. Our playgroup becomes a vital network, a place where they can connect, exchange experiences, and find understanding. Even in this informal setting, our team is there to offer gentle guidance on parenthood and navigating cultural differences.
The aim is simple yet profound: to bring these mothers together, fostering connection and offering a precious moment of respite while their children are engaged and happy.
Today, on the International Day of Families, please join us in prayer for the refugee children and their families we have the privilege to serve in Cyprus. May they find strength, connection, and hope in their journey.
