We’re thrilled to share a story of community and education, stemming from our past work in the Moria camp in Lesvos and continuing to support refugee children today.
Many of you will remember our school in Moria, where we aimed to provide a safe and enriching learning environment. We built strong connections with families, ensuring children could access education and support. During that time, we invested in high-quality school books and materials, sourced from the US, to equip our students with the best resources.
When our centre relocated, we found ourselves with a wealth of educational materials but lacked the personnel to continue our classroom programme independently. Recognising the ongoing need for education, especially for children who are often in transit, we sought a partner who could utilise these resources effectively.
We’re delighted to announce that we’ve donated these books and materials to Eurorelief, who are running a school at the current camp. Together with teachers provided from TeachBeyond, they play a crucial role in supporting the children who are often only in the camp for 3-5 months – utilising these resources to provide vital educational support.
This ensures that even during their short stay, these children have access to learning opportunities, friendships and emotional/ trauma support.
This donation is a testament to the power of collaboration and the importance of ensuring continuous educational support for refugee children. By working together, we can make a noticeable difference in their lives.
