We are getting ready for our “Refugee Children Football Camp”, taking place in Hanau, Germany, next week! We have eight volunteers coming from Brazil, another two coming from Spain, and other volunteers from Germany. Among them a FIFA qualified football coach, who will be heading up the programme.
The event is organised through an inter-agency partnership between the World Mission Board of the Brazilian Baptist Convention, who will send the Brazilian volunteers, the City of Hanau, which is offering us a sports hall, the FEG Hanau, helping with the contacts and invitations and All4Aid, organising volunteers and the the logistics in Germany for all volunteers.
Our aim is not only to teach football to the refugee children, but to help them develop their confidence and self-esteem, as well as learn some life principles through sports.
Keep us in your thoughts. That this may be a successful event! And if you would like to support it, ask us how! We are still raising money to cover the costs for footballs, children’s training vests, activity materials and so on.
